Belmont University is a private Christian-based school that includes both undergraduate and graduate studies. There are over 75 majors and a handful of doctor/master degree studies. The school has a mission statement that is followed by all students attending Belmont in order to maintain a common goal for their future. The statement is:


Belmont University is a student-centered Christian community providing an academically challenging education that empowers men and women of diverse backgrounds to engage and transform the world with disciplined intelligence, compassion, courage and faith.

Belmont University is growing in population every year with their fall 2011 enrollment at 6,365 undergrads and grads. Its small size allows each class to be, on average, 30 students or less. The student to teacher ratio is 13:1 and the professors are very interactive with their students.
